Uber's latest detailed Bangladesh expansion release is from August 2022. It reported service in 20 cities across all 8 divisions, but only Moto in all 20: UberX was in 5, CNG in 3, Rental in 3 and Intercity in 4. Treat those figures as the latest published breakdown, not a promise that every product remains unchanged in 2026, and inspect the live vehicle selector at the actual pickup.34
Pathao's current English car page lists Dhaka, including Narayanganj, Tongi and Gazipur, plus Sylhet and Chattogram metropolitan areas. Its Bengali FAQ currently says car service is in Dhaka and Chattogram only. Because the operator's own pages conflict, let the live car selector decide rather than promising Sylhet coverage.567
Pathao's current car page lists card, digital payment and bKash. Uber payment options vary by account and ride. Select the method before requesting and carry Bangladeshi taka so a card failure does not force an off-app negotiation.35
Pay the fare shown or properly adjusted inside the active booking. A driver asking to cancel, start early or agree a separate amount removes the record that support needs. If the method or price changes before pickup, cancel from a safe place and request again.
Uber publishes terminal-dependent pickup guidance for Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and says the assigned location may not be the nearest exit. Request only when ready, follow the post-booking directions and contact the assigned driver through the app if the meeting point is unclear. Ignore anyone in arrivals who wants to replace the booked driver.8
Match the face, plate and vehicle before boarding. If the assigned car doesn't begin moving toward you, message through the app and compare the wait with the airport's rent-a-car service or a hotel transfer. Don't walk into a dark or isolated road merely to save the booking.8
Motorcycle services can cut through Dhaka traffic, but Bangladesh has serious road-safety risks. Avoid making a bike the default after dark, with luggage, in heavy rain or without a correctly fitting helmet. Choose a car or CNG when the exposure outweighs the time saved.1
In a car, sit where a working seat belt is available and share the active trip. Do not allow the driver to start the meter or app trip before reaching you, because that distorts both the route record and final fare.

Return to a staffed terminal, hotel or shop and ask for a licensed taxi or reputable car service. Agree the fare in taka before moving and record the plate. For intercity travel, use a known operator and write down the route, stops and total.
