Is Uber available in Skopje or elsewhere?
No. North Macedonia does not appear in Uber's current global city directory, and there is no Uber city or airport page for the country.
Local app coverage is centered on Skopje. Wizi's Skopje page confirms app and phone booking and publishes a local fare structure. BeeRide and Global Taxi also have current passenger apps for Skopje, but their existence does not establish service in Ohrid, Bitola, or smaller towns.
Outside the capital, ask the accommodation for a registered local taxi or a confirmed transfer. Do not install a Skopje app and assume it can send a car across the country.

Can I use Uber at Skopje Airport?
No. Uber cannot pick up at Skopje International Airport, SKP.
The airport says its airport taxi company is the only company authorized by TAV Macedonia to transport passengers from the airport. Its vehicles are white, carry taxi signs numbered 1 through 65, and wait outside the terminal around flight arrivals. The official airport page says the destination price list is displayed at the exit and in every vehicle, and no reservation is required for an ordinary arrival.
Do not call a city app from baggage claim and assume it can use the same pickup lane. For a departure from Skopje city, Wizi or another local dispatcher may be useful. For an arrival, the authorized fleet and posted price list are the unambiguous option.
The airport also runs a shuttle bus tied to flight times. It is worth comparing when you are traveling alone and staying near one of its city stops.
What should I use instead of Uber?
- Wizi: Install first for ordinary Skopje rides. It has the clearest official city page and can also be booked by phone.
- BeeRide or Global Taxi: Keep one as a second local dispatcher if Wizi has no car or registration fails.
- The authorized airport taxi: Use it for pickup from SKP. Check the posted destination price and the numbered white vehicle before leaving.
- A hotel-arranged local taxi: The best fallback outside Skopje, where capital-city app coverage is not a regional promise.
For a flight, test app registration in advance and keep denars available. A card option shown in an app does not mean every street-hailed or regional taxi accepts cards.
