Lynk is a Jamaican digital wallet, but its own support page says registration is only for adults with valid Jamaican government identification, and its terms require Jamaican residence. Carry a modest reserve of Jamaican dollars and separate it from backup cards. U.S. dollars are accepted in many tourist settings, but merchant exchange rates and change can be poor, so confirm both the currency and final amount before paying. Use licensed cambios or commercial banks for cash exchange. For ATM withdrawals, prefer a machine inside a bank, hotel, airport, or staffed business during daylight, inspect the reader, shield the PIN, decline unnecessary dynamic currency conversion when the displayed home-currency rate is poor, and monitor the account afterward. ATM availability is limited outside Kingston and Montego Bay, machines can be out of service or empty, and both the local operator and home issuer may charge fees. Keep cards in sight because official advice warns about skimming and unauthorized transactions. A card saved in Apple Pay or Google Wallet is not a reliable cash replacement because contactless acceptance varies.
