Public transportation apps, curated for travelers visiting Nepal.
Kathmandu does not have one dependable app covering its complete bus, minibus and microbus network. Google Maps is useful for locating stops and destinations, but public-transport routes are incomplete. Sajha Plus is the official companion for Sajha Yatayat buses only. It can show Sajha routes, stops and vehicle positions, which makes it useful when a Sajha route matches your journey. It does not cover every operator or every Kathmandu bus. Store reviews and local users report inaccurate vehicle locations, glitches and incomplete information, so do not plan a tight airport, tour or medical connection around its live pin. Ask your hotel, a conductor or people at the stop which vehicle to take, confirm the destination before boarding and keep small rupee notes for the fare. Local buses can be crowded, signage may be only in Nepali and the practical pickup point may not look like a formal stop. Avoid standing in the roadway while waiting. For a first arrival with luggage, late-night travel or a time-sensitive trip, a verified ride app or prearranged car is usually easier. Do not use an urban bus app for travel to Pokhara, Chitwan or a trekking gateway. Those journeys need an intercity booking, and road conditions can add hours to the scheduled time.
The official route and vehicle-tracking app for Sajha Yatayat buses, not Kathmandu's whole transit network.
