Get around with local ride-hailing apps, curated for travelers visiting Pakistan.
Install inDrive first for the broadest documented city coverage. Its current Pakistan page lists thirteen cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta's omission notwithstanding, and several secondary cities. The app lets riders propose a fare and choose among driver offers. Compare the amount, rating, completed rides, vehicle and pickup distance rather than automatically accepting the cheapest offer. Yango is the clearest second choice in the cities it serves because it quotes an upfront fare and officially advertises cash plus supported Visa and Mastercard payments. Payment availability can still differ by account, city or ride, and recent local reports say card payment may not appear, so confirm the method before booking and carry exact cash. Bykea is a useful bike, rickshaw and car alternative, but its own site currently names only Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. The previous Rawalpindi claim was not supported. Current Reddit reports describe drivers on both major platforms requesting extra money, mismatched people or plates, unwanted post-trip contact and inconsistent support. Match the driver, face and plate before entering, cancel if anything differs, keep the ride inside the app, share the live trip and reject any off-app fare change. Sit in the rear and avoid disclosing an accommodation room number. Airport supply can be inconsistent, so use the official taxi desk or a prearranged hotel transfer when a late arrival cannot fail. These apps are city tools. For Hunza, Skardu and remote valleys, arrange a known local driver or jeep through the accommodation or licensed operator and verify the road immediately before departure.
