How it works here Uber operates through licensed Austrian taxi businesses and qualified taxi drivers, not ordinary private motorists. Its live city directory is broad, but a listed location does not guarantee quick supply in a rural or Alpine area.
Vienna's municipal guidance says ordinary taxi trips use the binding taximeter, while a ride booked through a communication service can use an agreed price within the regulated tariff band.
