Czechia does not use one app for every journey.
In Prague, PID Lítačka sells cheaper digital tickets, but a newly activated ticket has a protection countdown and must show as valid before boarding. Regular PID tickets cover airport lines 59 and 100, not the separately priced Airport Express. Brno has a different system and lets one passenger tap a physical contactless Visa or Mastercard on city lines with automatic fare calculation. For travel between cities, use IDOS to find the operator, then compare and buy from České dráhy, RegioJet or Leo Express directly.
The currency is the Czech crown, not the euro. Choose CZK at terminals and ATMs, carry a physical backup card and keep some crown cash for the minority of places that do not accept cards. Call 112 for general emergencies or 155 for medical emergencies.

The real Czech trap is credit expiry: unlike most of Europe, credit is lost unless you top up periodically, continued usage does not count, and several operators decline non-Czech cards for online top-ups, so a card can die once you leave the country with no way to revive it remotely. The Vodafone Visitor SIM and Hotspot have EU roaming blocked and work only inside Czechia, and even ordinary Vodafone prepaid has limited EU roaming, so check before relying on a Czech SIM elsewhere in Europe. T-Mobile Twist cards ship with a free on-net calling option that auto-renews at 149 CZK after 30 days unless disabled by SMS.
