Bolt and Uber are the two large international ride apps, while Liftago is the strongest Czech taxi-dispatch alternative. It is usually the cheaper of the two global apps, although surge pricing can reverse the comparison. All three have English interfaces, accept foreign numbers and require no Czech ID or bank account. Uber and Bolt normally accept foreign Visa and Mastercard cards plus Apple Pay or Google Pay where enabled. Liftago supports cards, but cash is the practical fallback if a foreign issuer declines. At Prague Airport, use the official Uber kiosks or app pickup instructions and ignore unsolicited drivers. The service launched an updated airport product on June 23, 2026. Uber works beyond Prague, but supply is thinner outside the largest cities. Bolt has the widest named urban footprint. FREENOW does not operate in Czechia as of July 2026. In small towns, a local licensed taxi called by phone may be faster than any app.
