Entry preparation is web-first. Check visa and passport rules for the traveler's nationality through the Government of The Bahamas or the responsible embassy, and check transit or re-entry rules for every country used on the journey. Current UK advice says its covered travelers need a passport valid for at least six months beyond planned departure, but that is not a universal substitute for nationality-specific guidance. Travelers arriving from a yellow-fever-risk country may need proof of vaccination. As of 26 May 2026, the Bahamian government temporarily prohibits entry for travelers coming from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan in response to the regional Ebola emergency; anyone with recent travel in the region should obtain current official guidance before departure. The Bahamas Digital Arrival Card began a soft-launch pilot on 5 May 2026. It combines immigration and customs information through a dedicated web form, but only selected visitors on selected flights are currently invited to use it, and paper processing remains available during the pilot. Do not download a lookalike app or assume the pilot is mandatory for every arrival. Follow the airline's or official government's instructions for the specific flight. The separate Exempt customs app is mainly relevant when a traveler must file a C17 goods declaration; the government says a visitor carrying only used personal belongings can make an oral baggage declaration. Its Android listing has poor reviews and says data is not encrypted, so it should not be a routine tourist install. Carry the physical passport and keep immigration, onward-travel, accommodation, insurance, and medical documents offline.
