It accepts login by SMS or WhatsApp, which helps travelers using data without normal SMS. A payment card can only be added after the app detects that the user is physically in Barbados. pickUP currently cannot schedule a future ride or add multiple stops. Availability is strongest around the airport, Bridgetown, the south coast, and the west-coast visitor areas; recent reports show that rural or late pickups can still fail. Compare the quote and wait in both apps. For a critical airport departure, a remote property, a large party, or an accessibility need, arrange a licensed taxi or accommodation transfer in advance rather than relying on a live request. Official travel advice recommends licensed taxis and warns about crime. Match the registration, driver, photo, and app booking before entering, reject off-app substitutions, share the trip, and wait in a secure place. Street taxis are unmetered, so confirm the total fare and currency before travel. Uber and pickUP improve transparency, but neither guarantees islandwide supply at every hour.
