Convenience store and delivery apps, curated for travelers visiting Canada.
The Tim Hortons app is useful only for travelers who expect to visit the chain repeatedly. It supports ordering ahead, payment, offers and Tims Rewards, but ordinary counter and drive-through purchases do not require the app. The previous Canada copy overstated both the density of Tim Hortons locations and the reward mechanic. The current program awards points based on eligible spending rather than a free coffee after every seven purchases. As of May 2026, members earn 10 points per eligible Canadian dollar and redeem according to reward levels. For a short visit or a single coffee, downloading the app and creating an account adds more friction than value. Keep it optional and avoid presenting a restaurant loyalty app as a country arrival essential. If using order ahead, check the selected branch carefully because nearby locations can have similar names and an order placed at the wrong store may be difficult to recover. Review the available reward before redeeming because point requirements vary by item. A foreign card can still be used normally at the counter if app payment or account setup fails, so do not preload more value than the trip will use.
Order ahead, pay, and earn Tims Rewards at Tim Hortons. Useful for repeat visits, unnecessary for an occasional purchase.
