Rova is a newly launched local ride-booking app on iOS and Android that shows fare estimates, supports advance requests and connects passengers with drivers it describes as verified and licensed. It is useful enough to try in 2026, but it is still early: the Android listing only recently passed one thousand downloads, its terms do not guarantee a driver for a scheduled trip, and local reports describe both successful rides and searches with no driver available. Treat it as an optional booking channel, not your only airport or early-morning plan. Rova states that payment goes directly to the driver by cash or local mobile money, so carry Fijian dollars. Ordinary licensed taxis remain the dependable default in Nadi, Denarau, Lautoka and Suva. Licensed vehicles have yellow plates. LT taxis use meters, while LH vehicles use fixed-distance rates. Confirm the payment basis before leaving and make sure a metered taxi starts the meter. Keep the number of a reliable driver after a good trip and ask your accommodation to prearrange remote pickups. Avoid unlicensed private cars and unapproved minibuses. Seatbelts may not be fitted in every rear seat, and child seats are unlikely without prior arrangement. For time-critical transfers, confirm the vehicle directly and keep a second plan.
