That breadth makes it the best secondary-city check, though only the live map can prove a nearby driver.6

Recent Kenyan rider reports describe drivers rejecting discounted or card trips, requesting extra money or pressing for a different payment method. These reports cannot establish how common the problem is. They do justify sending one short confirmation before pickup and keeping cash or M-PESA ready when the app allows it.8
A payment preference does not justify moving the trip off-platform. If the driver will not honor the booked method or asks for an undisclosed supplement, cancel through the appropriate reason and request another car. Pay only the recorded amount unless you knowingly add a tip, and retain the receipt for support.81
Uber's JKIA page says the app provides step-by-step pickup directions and supports reservations up to 90 days ahead. Request only after collecting luggage and being ready to move, then confirm the terminal or meeting zone in the app. Ignore unsolicited drivers and anyone who cannot match the active booking.5
An urban ride app does not replace a safari or remote-lodge transfer. Park gates, rough access roads, luggage and the need for a guaranteed return require a verified operator or driver arranged through the accommodation. Motorbike categories can save time in traffic, but their road exposure and lack of luggage protection make a car the better general visitor choice.3
If the apps fail, use a verified hotel transfer, a licensed airport operator or a taxi company recommended by the property. Confirm the vehicle, driver, complete price, payment method and return arrangement before departure. Do not accept a random airport or roadside offer because it happens to be available.31
