Desert glam meets digital convenience
Heads up
Qatar is extremely well-connected and modern, with excellent infrastructure for tourists. English is widely spoken, and most services accept credit cards. However, ride-hailing apps are the easiest way to get around since the public transit network is still growing. During summer months (May to September), temperatures regularly exceed 45°C, so plan outdoor activities for early morning or evening. Alcohol is only available in licensed hotel restaurants and bars. Download Careem and Talabat before you land and you will hit the ground running.

The dominant food delivery platform in Qatar and across the Gulf. Talabat has the widest restaurant selection, from street shawarma joints to high-end hotel restaurants. Also delivers groceries and convenience items.
The default communication app in Qatar. Hotels, tour operators, restaurants, and local contacts all prefer WhatsApp for bookings and coordination.
