Its Red, Green and Gold lines connect Hamad International Airport, central Doha, West Bay, Education City, Al Wakrah and links to Lusail Tram, with air-conditioned trains and frequent service. Qatar Rail's current fare policy lists QAR 2 for a standard single journey and a QAR 6 daily cap. Everyone aged five or older needs an individual Travel Pass. A reusable Standard card has a one-time QAR 10 card cost, while Limited Use paper products include day and weekly passes.
Tap in and out even after reaching the cap. Metro and tram passes do not pay for Karwa public buses. Friday morning service pauses for prayers, and event or seasonal hours can change, so check Qatar Rail rather than copying an old timetable. The Qatar Rail app can show network information and manage a registered reusable card, but a visitor can also buy the needed product at a station machine or counter.
For public buses and Metrolink, use the official Karwa Journey Planner to plan routes, view current information and manage bus smart cards. Mowasalat currently states that public buses generally run from 4:00 to midnight, while Metrolink hours differ and Friday service starts later. Live information and app availability can still fail, so verify the route number, direction, stop and last useful return. Metroexpress is a free shared feeder in eligible zones booked through the separate Karwa taxi app, not a guaranteed private ride.
Use a taxi when heat, luggage, accessibility or the last connection makes the nominal walk impractical.
