What to know about Transit in Cambodia

Phnom Penh's public buses are inexpensive, but they are a limited city network rather than a complete national transit system. The City Bus Official App is the specialist tool for current routes, stops and live vehicle locations. Google Maps can also show stops and routes, but recent riders say the official live map is more useful because buses do not always follow a dependable timetable. Confirm the destination and direction before boarding, keep small riel notes or a working KHQR option, and allow a generous wait and traffic buffer. Do not assume a map arrival time is guaranteed. Techo International Airport has an official Airport Express bus between the airport and the Kouch Kanong Circle area, with designated stops along Monivong Boulevard and Samdech Techo Hun Sen Boulevard. The airport currently publishes daily operating hours from 05:30 to 23:30, but schedules, fares and stops can change. Check the airport transportation page and the City Bus app on the day of travel. Make sure the chosen stop is practical for your accommodation and luggage. For a very early flight, late arrival, large group or heavy luggage, a licensed taxi or in-app Grab or PassApp car may be the safer choice. Phnom Penh buses do not solve transport at Siem Reap's airport or in other provinces. Ask the relevant airport or accommodation about its current official shuttle and avoid accepting an unverified transport offer solely because someone approaches you inside or outside a terminal.
