Order food from local restaurants, curated for travelers visiting Costa Rica.
Uber Eats and PedidosYa are the two broad visitor choices, with DiDi Food and Rappi as useful price checks. All four are strongest in Greater San José, including San José, Escazú, Santa Ana, Heredia, Alajuela and Curridabat. PedidosYa and Uber Eats also reach selected cities such as Cartago and Liberia, while DiDi Food's official Costa Rica service is concentrated around San José as of mid-2026. PedidosYa and DiDi Food are usually cheaper than Uber Eats after fees or promotions. Rappi has a smaller restaurant footprint and is often the most expensive after service charges, but it can list merchants absent from rivals. Each has Spanish interfaces; Uber Eats, DiDi Food and Rappi also support English to varying degrees. A foreign number works without local ID or a Costa Rican bank account. International Visa and Mastercard cards normally work, while cash is available on selected PedidosYa, DiDi Food and Rappi orders. Enter the exact address and landmark because formal street numbers are often less useful than the pin and written directions. Delivery charges vary by district, demand and merchant, with no stable national typical fee. Compare the complete basket. Uber agreed in July 2026 to acquire Delivery Hero, PedidosYa's owner, but the deal was not completed by July 31, 2026, so the two apps remain separate. Glovo sold its Costa Rican operations to Delivery Hero in 2020 and should not be listed. Outside the Central Valley and named tourist cities, direct restaurant delivery is common.
