Cuba's essential arrival workflows are official websites, not travel apps. Check eVisa requirements for the exact passport and route through the Cuban eVisa portal or a Cuban consulate. Complete D’Viajeros no earlier than 72 hours before entry, enter the visa code where required, and save both the QR code and a printed copy. Carry proof of onward travel, accommodation, and medical insurance, and verify the passport-validity rule with the airline and official source for the traveler's nationality. Canadians arriving directly on some package arrangements may have a different visa workflow, so do not generalize one nationality's process. U.S. persons cannot travel for ordinary tourism and must fit an authorized OFAC category, comply with transaction and accommodation restrictions, and retain required records. Separately, a national of a Visa Waiver Program country who has traveled to Cuba on or after 12 January 2021 is generally ineligible to use ESTA for later U.S. travel and must apply for a visa unless a limited exception applies. That consequence can be more important than any booking app. Use only official portals and do not pay an unofficial agent to fix a form. Save every confirmation, insurance certificate, airline message, and consular contact offline. With major airlines suspended and airport fuel unstable in July 2026, recheck both outbound and return flights directly with the operating carrier. A reservation platform can show a booking while the service is disrupted. Keep flexible cancellation terms, an onward visa plan, and enough cash for a changed route or extra nights.
