Ecuador has three credible delivery apps, but the best one changes with the city and the exact entrance pin. Start with PedidosYa for local range, then compare Uber Eats or Rappi before you build a large basket.
Open PedidosYa first, especially outside Quito and Guayaquil. If you already use Uber, check Uber Eats at the same address for an easier account and language experience. Rappi is a useful third comparison in its nine documented courier markets. Do not choose from a national logo alone: set the real delivery pin, compare the amount payable and confirm how the courier can reach you.

How it works here Uber Eats has broad current coverage across Ecuador's major cities. PedidosYa and Rappi remain separate live alternatives, and the July 2026 transactions involving Delivery Hero have not closed.
A correct street name can still lead a courier to the wrong gate. Put the pin on the entrance a motorcycle can actually reach, then add the hotel, tower or urbanización name and one visible landmark. If reception controls access, ask where deliveries are received before ordering and meet the courier there. Keep the registered number reachable because the final exchange may happen in Spanish.9
The PedidosYa and Rappi store listings include English, but that doesn't translate every restaurant menu, courier message or support exchange. Uber Eats is usually the least unfamiliar interface for someone with an existing account. Screenshots of the address and order details are more reliable than trying to reconstruct a failed handoff after the courier has left.67
A headline promotion is not the bill. Compare the restaurant's item prices, delivery fee, service charge, small-order charge and tip on the last screen. Compare the same small sample order in only one other app, or the time spent chasing a discount can exceed the saving. Keep the receipt until every substitution or refund has settled.4
A saved foreign card can still fail at the final authorization. Uber Eats shows cash only where that method is enabled for the order, so the checkout screen is the authority. Carry a second card and a small amount of US-dollar cash, but never pay again at the door when the app already marks the order as paid.5
Uber announced a proposed Delivery Hero acquisition in July 2026, with a separate agreement for SSW Partners to acquire the PedidosYa businesses in Ecuador and Chile. The announcement says the transactions remain subject to conditions and approvals. PedidosYa is still a live, separate app today. Do not plan around a merger, shared account or automatic transfer of promotions that hasn't happened.8
When all three platforms show a weak selection, call or message the restaurant using the number on its own site or verified map listing. Confirm the total, delivery location and payment method before sending money. For a serious allergy, speak directly with the kitchen in a shared language; an app filter or translated note cannot establish ingredient control.4
If no app serves the address, ask the accommodation for one nearby restaurant that delivers directly or arrange pickup. Confirm the order, total and entrance in writing. In a remote lodge or coastal property, decide the return or pickup plan before the kitchen closes rather than waiting for a courier market that may not exist.9
There is no single winner. Search the real address in PedidosYa, then compare the same small order in one competing app that shows a useful selection nearby.
