What to know about Transit in Malaysia

MyRapid PULSE is the official planner for Rapid KL and Rapid Penang. It covers the Klang Valley MRT, LRT, Monorail, Sunway BRT, Rapid KL buses, MRT feeder buses and Rapid Penang buses, with live bus information where operator data is available. It is not a national Malaysia transport app and does not replace KTMB, KLIA Ekspres or another city's operator. Use it with the MyRapid website and service alerts, especially when a rail or Touch 'n Go disruption is posted. In Kuala Lumpur, the physical Touch 'n Go stored-value card is the reusable gate and bus payment tool. The eWallet balance on a phone is separate, and a phone or overseas bank card should not be assumed to open a Rapid KL gate. One physical card is needed for each passenger. Single-journey rail tokens remain a fallback on supported rail trips, but Rapid buses are cashless. The Rapid Kembara visitor pass can cover Rapid KL rail and buses for its validity period, but it is limited to the Klang Valley and still has to be encoded onto an eligible physical Touch 'n Go card. It does not cover KTM Komuter or KLIA Ekspres. Compare the pass price with the trips you will actually take instead of buying it automatically. Arrival rail, city rail and intercity train tickets may belong to different operators. Check the exact station name, line, direction, last service and any transfer outside the paid area. Google Maps is useful for an initial route, but the operator remains the source for current service changes.

Official planner and bus tracker for Rapid KL and Rapid Penang networks, with operator maps and service information.

Pro tip: Use it with current MyRapid alerts. It does not cover every Malaysian operator, and the app does not replace the physical Touch 'n Go fare card.
