LT72 is Lithuania's official civil-protection app and website. It publishes urgent warnings, preparedness guidance and an interactive map of warning sirens, shelters, collective-protection buildings and evacuation assembly points. The current iOS listing supports English, and the government was still actively promoting the app in May 2026. It is useful to install before travel, allow notifications and review the nearest shelter information while the phone is online. It must not be the only warning channel. Lithuania also sends emergency warnings through Cell Broadcast. The official LT72 instructions say to enable every Emergency Alerts option in the phone's notification settings; many newer phones enable these automatically, but travelers should verify them. Recent app reviews and local reports describe notifications disappearing after opening and maps or content failing during major alerts, while the map also depends on connectivity. Save the accommodation address, nearest sensible shelter or safe indoor location and official emergency instructions offline before a crisis. If an alert arrives, read the full Cell Broadcast message, check lt72.lt or current government reporting and follow instructions for the stated area. Do not travel toward an incident merely because the map shows a shelter there. Call 112 for urgent police, fire or medical help. Give the exact municipality, street, building number or landmark and stay on the line. LT72 is an information and alert tool, not a replacement for 112, mobile emergency alerts, sirens or directions from authorities. During an outage, use radio, accommodation staff and official instructions rather than relying on a social-media repost.
