Moezala is the authorized mobile weather and hydrology app drawing on Myanmar Department of Meteorology and Hydrology information. Its current iOS and Android releases include forecasts, river levels, cyclone, flood, strong wind, heavy rain, tsunami and earthquake information. Use it as one source, and verify serious warnings on moezala.gov.mm plus instructions from local authorities and the accommodation. Network and power failures can delay any app, so do not wait for a phone notification if an earthquake, flood, cyclone warning, fire or nearby violence requires immediate action. Save local emergency and consular contacts outside the app. Australian travel advice reviewed in July 2026 lists 191 for fire, 192 for medical emergencies through Yangon General Hospital and 199 for police. Coverage, response time and English ability are limited, especially outside Yangon, so also save the nearest suitable hospital, insurer, hotel and embassy numbers. Do not leave main roads in mine-risk areas. If a passport is lost or stolen, obtain police documentation when safe and contact the relevant embassy or consulate. An app cannot solve an active conflict, closed road, poor rescue capacity or invalid insurance. Leave a private itinerary with a trusted person, maintain a charged power bank, and arrange regular check-ins that do not expose local contacts publicly.
