Hotels, guides, drivers, clinics and restaurants often publish an official LINE QR code, and LINE GO taxi booking also runs inside LINE without a separate app. The app supports English and an international mobile number can be used for a normal LINE account. Some embedded Taiwanese services still require a verified Taiwanese number, local identity or local payment method, so having LINE does not guarantee access to LINE GO, LINE Pay or every business mini-service. Install LINE before the trip only if an accommodation, tour operator or restaurant asks to communicate there, or if you expect to scan local business accounts.
Otherwise email, a booking platform and ordinary phone calls remain sufficient. Add businesses from the QR code on their official website, verified social profile or premises rather than from an unsolicited message. Keep reservation and payment confirmations in the original booking channel when possible. Businesses may send Traditional Chinese automated replies, which can be copied into a translator.
LINE is not an emergency channel. Call police on 110 or fire and ambulance on 119. A mobile phone can also dial 112 when normal network service is unavailable and then select the relevant emergency service.
