Never treat a line on Google Maps as mine clearance. Bosnia and Herzegovina still has mine-suspected areas and unexploded ordnance, especially away from well-used surfaces and near former confrontation lines. Stay on hard-surfaced roads and established paths, respect warning signs and barriers, and do not enter abandoned buildings. Use the separate BHMAC safety app as an additional awareness layer when leaving urban areas, but an unmarked screen cannot certify ground as safe.
Save the destination name and address in local spelling. For hiking, use a route from the park, guide or established operator, tell someone the plan and turn around if conditions or markings become uncertain. A downloaded map cannot show a fresh landslide, flood, construction closure or changed border condition.
