China's current official foreign-resident guide explicitly lists Trip.com for hotel booking. Enter traveler names and passport numbers exactly, and confirm that a ticket has actually been issued rather than merely requested. For high-demand attractions, a Trip.com advance request can fail if the supplier cannot secure inventory after the official release, so do not treat a pending request as guaranteed admission. Many free museums and some landmark reservations still use an official website or a WeChat mini program. Booking windows and passport rules differ by attraction and change frequently. Carry the original passport because it often serves as the admission credential. For hotels, the property submits a foreign guest's accommodation registration. If you stay in a private home or other non-hotel accommodation, registration is your host's or your responsibility and follows separate NIA rules. Hong Kong and Macao listings sit under different legal and immigration systems.
