Food Delivery Apps in Italy

Italy's restaurant-delivery market is split among Just Eat, Glovo, Deliveroo and Uber Eats, with no reliable current public figure showing an overwhelming national winner. Just Eat has broad restaurant reach, including businesses using their own couriers, while Glovo is strong for app-managed delivery and local retail. Either works for a visitor with a foreign phone number and international Visa or Mastercard, and both offer English without requiring Italian ID or a bank account. PayPal or mobile-wallet availability varies. Coverage is strongest in Rome, Milan, Turin, Bologna, Florence, Naples, Palermo and Catania and stops at address-level delivery boundaries. Smaller towns may appear on Just Eat only because a restaurant delivers itself. Uber Eats operates, and Deliveroo also remained active in July 2026 after DoorDash completed its acquisition in October 2025. DoorDash has not replaced the Deliveroo brand with its own consumer app. Fees include restaurant-specific delivery, service and small-order charges displayed before checkout. A first-time visitor should compare the app total with direct restaurant ordering, especially for pizza, because many Italian restaurants still deliver by phone.
