Buy medicine only from a legitimate pharmacy and involve a clinician or insurer for substitutions. At markets and roadside vendors, ask the price before accepting an item and carry small U.S.-dollar bills because their electronic option may be ATH Móvil, which most visitors cannot use. Keep cards in sight and retain receipts for larger purchases. Before carrying fruit, plants, meat, crafts made from plant material, or other agricultural items to the U.S. mainland, check the current USDA list and present all such items for airport inspection. A shopping download cannot replace inventory confirmation, payment backup, or customs checks.
