Gojek, TADA and RYDE are worthwhile backups when Grab is expensive or slow. Recent local comparisons show that no app is consistently cheapest: a fare can differ sharply between platforms at the same moment, especially during rain, the commute peak, concerts and late at night. Compare the complete quote and pickup time rather than relying on one brand. In CDG Zig, distinguish a flat-fare booking from a metered taxi estimate. Metered trips can add booking, peak, midnight and other regulated surcharges, while flat fares may still exclude ERP road charges or waiting fees where disclosed. Private-hire cars cannot be hailed on the street and cannot use taxi stands, so meet them at the app's designated pickup point or driveway. Changi has signed ride-hail pickup areas in each terminal; follow the app and airport signs rather than waiting in the taxi queue. Verify the registration plate and driver before boarding, keep in-app communication, and share the live trip when useful. A normal street taxi remains a legitimate alternative and can sometimes be cheaper. For an airport departure or other time-critical journey, allow extra time and do not depend on a smaller platform finding a driver immediately.
