Slovenia doesn't have one visitor app that plans and sells every journey. Use Urbana for Ljubljana buses, Grem z vlakom for Slovenian Railways and the responsible bus operator or IJPP channel for intercity coaches. Slomet can reveal connections, but it cannot make a ticket valid.
In Ljubljana, choose Urbana when you need transfers and tap a contactless card only for a simple direct bus ride. For trains, buy in Grem z vlakom or another official channel before boarding when the station has an open ticket facility. For intercity buses, check Nomago or the named operator and do not assume an online IJPP product can be issued instantly without the required card.

The Urbana mobile app can act as a virtual Ljubljana card for visitors on iOS and Android. LPP's current conditions require Bluetooth, mobile data and location services for bus validation. Validate every boarding. When paying for more than one passenger, follow the app flow for the whole group and keep the phone available for inspection.23
A contactless Visa or Mastercard can be tapped directly on an LPP bus, which removes the setup for one straightforward ride. LPP's rules do not give payment-card trips the free transfer available to a correctly validated Urbana journey within the 90-minute window. Use the same method deliberately rather than mixing a bank-card tap with an assumed Urbana transfer.3
Grem z vlakom is Slovenian Railways' own planning and ticket app. It sells domestic rail and IJPP products, shows delays and replacement buses, accepts supported payment cards and produces a ticket with an AZTEC code for inspection. Keep that code accessible and check the selected train and passenger details before paying.4
Slovenian Railways currently states that buying from train staff carries a EUR 12 surcharge when the departure station had an open ticket office or working ticket machine. The surcharge does not apply when there was no purchase facility. Avoid arguing that the app failed after boarding; use the machine, office or official website while still at the station.5
Nomago's current timetable guidance reflects an important change introduced on 1 August 2025: its old single-use paper products were discontinued. A passenger without an IJPP card can still buy a single IJPP ticket from the bus driver, but the price can differ from an advance channel. Check the current operator and fare before relying on the final departure.6
Online IJPP products can depend on possession of a physical IJPP card, and Nomago warns that card delivery takes several working days in Slovenia and longer abroad. That makes some online advice unsuitable for a visitor arriving tomorrow. For an immediate trip, verify driver sale, a staffed counter or an operator-specific ticket instead of assuming registration solves the problem.6
Slomet combines official open timetable and available live data from LPP, IJPP, Marprom, Slovenian Railways and other networks. It is useful when a connection is hard to discover, but it is an independent planner and cannot sell the ticket. Confirm a critical departure, platform and disruption with the named operator.7
BicikeLJ is a bike-share service, not the missing national transit app. Its official visitor material describes weekly and annual subscriptions with the first 60 minutes of each ride included. Inspect the bike before release and wait for the return confirmation at the dock so an unclosed rental does not continue running.18
If the relevant app fails, buy from the operator's official website, machine, station or staffed sales point before travel. For an intercity bus, confirm driver sale and accepted payment before the final service. Save the timetable and accommodation number offline, especially where an evening connection has no practical substitute.56
First identify whether the trip is a city bus, national train or intercity coach, then use the operator named for that leg. No single app handles all three systems.
