Get around with local ride-hailing apps, curated for travelers visiting Uzbekistan.
Yandex Go is the overwhelming leader. Uzbekistan's Competition Committee found an 86.3 percent share in the taxi-aggregator market as of December 2023 and continued regulatory scrutiny through December 2024. No newer official share replaces that figure, so it remains the best sourced measure with its period stated. Yandex Go operates in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Namangan, Andijan and Fergana, with additional regional expansion. Uklon is a smaller Tashkent-only alternative, while MyTaxi is strongest in Tashkent and selected large cities. Uklon and MyTaxi are usually cheaper than Yandex Go during promotions as of mid-2026, but Yandex has far better driver supply. English is available in Yandex Go and Uklon, while MyTaxi localization may be incomplete. Official visitor guidance says international cards can work in Yandex Go but recommends an Uzbek SIM, which materially improves SMS and driver contact. Cash in Uzbek soʻm is the safest universal payment. A local ID or bank account is not required for a cash passenger ride. Tashkent International Airport to the city centre commonly costs about UZS 35,000 to UZS 80,000 before demand effects as of mid-2026. Ignore unsolicited airport drivers quoting in foreign currency. Uber, Bolt, Grab, inDrive and Lyft do not provide dependable consumer service. Coverage becomes sparse outside the six named cities, and intercity transport should be booked separately.
