Vietnam has two separate official immigration tools that travelers often confuse. The e-visa application belongs only at evisa.gov.vn or thithucdientu.gov.vn. The current official portal offers eligible applicants single or multiple entry e-visas for up to 90 days, with published fees of US$25 or US$50. Visa exemptions vary by passport, purpose and length of stay, so check the rule before paying. The Pre-arrival Information form at prearrival.immigration.gov.vn is different, free and does not issue a visa. It began as a 2026 Tan Son Nhat pilot and has since been announced for foreign travelers entering through major airports including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Cam Ranh and Phu Quoc. Complete it before departure, enter the flight and passport data carefully and save the QR code. Use only those government domains because fake visa and arrival-form sites solicit card payments. For domestic flights, install an airline app only when you hold that airline's booking. Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet apps can store a booking, send flight changes, sell baggage or seats and support check-in, but current store reviews show recurring login and booking problems, especially with foreign numbers. Keep the booking reference, ticket PDF and airline website available outside the app. Compare third-party hotel or activity prices with the supplier's direct channel, identify the actual operator and download every voucher. Reconfirm remote accommodation, boats, tours and airport transfers directly. A marketplace listing is not proof of safety, licensing, insurance or weather suitability.
