Thời tiết Việt Nam KTTV is now the best country-specific weather install. Vietnam's Department of Hydrometeorology formally promoted the official app in April 2026. It provides current conditions, forecasts of up to ten days and location-based warnings drawn from national hydrometeorological data, including thunderstorms, lightning, tropical depressions, strong marine winds, flash floods and landslides. The app supports English, but it is new and still has modest download numbers. Current iOS reviews report occasional blank screens and display problems, so it should not be the only source during severe weather. Enable alerts for the places on the actual itinerary and check the official National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting website as a backup. Vietnam's north, center and south have different rain, heat and typhoon patterns; a generic country forecast is misleading. Check warnings before a mountain transfer, cave, boat, beach, motorbike route or overnight bus, and reconfirm the operator after any storm or flood notice. Never cross floodwater or continue because an app route still appears open. Store the accommodation, insurer, airline, embassy and family contacts offline, along with a charged power bank and essential medicines. Call 112 for national search and rescue, 113 for police, 114 for fire and 115 for an ambulance. Emergency lines may operate only in Vietnamese, so ask a hotel, guide or bilingual person to help where possible. An app alert is not an evacuation order; follow local authorities and the staff responsible for the site or transport service.
