Thuisbezorgd.nl is the entrenched national food-ordering default, while Uber Eats is the best visitor alternative. Thuisbezorgd has the broadest restaurant reach, including many businesses that deliver with their own staff. Uber Eats currently lists extensive coverage across all Dutch provinces and provides more consistent live courier tracking. Both offer English, accept foreign phone numbers and require no Dutch ID or bank account. The payment trap is iDEAL: it is the local default and needs a participating bank, but Thuisbezorgd restaurants may also accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal or payment at the door. Available methods vary by merchant. Uber Eats generally accepts the international card already attached to the account. Coverage is dense in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Eindhoven, Groningen, Maastricht and many smaller cities, but still depends on the exact address. Deliveroo ended Dutch operations on November 30, 2022 and should not be listed. DoorDash does not operate under its own consumer brand. Service and delivery fees are shown at checkout, and restaurant-managed Thuisbezorgd orders may have less precise tracking than platform-courier orders. Bolt Food also remained active in Amsterdam as of July 2026, but its Dutch coverage was narrower than Thuisbezorgd.nl or Uber Eats.
