Use 9292 or the relevant operator for live platforms, cancellations, ticket scope and accessibility because a map route is not the transport authority. Download useful areas before arrival, but Google states that offline maps do not provide public-transport, walking or cycling directions, so save critical routes separately. Dutch place and station names are usually straightforward, although entrances on opposite sides of a canal, railway or large station can be far apart. Save the exact accommodation entrance and check whether a pickup pin is reachable by car.

Cycling directions require judgment. The Netherlands has excellent bike infrastructure, but central Amsterdam traffic is fast and unfamiliar riders can create danger by stopping suddenly, drifting or treating a cycle lane as a footpath. Follow lights and signs, ride on the right, signal turns and cross tram rails at a sharp angle. Pull over completely before checking the map.

Dutch traffic guidance prohibits holding an electronic device while cycling. Park only in a designated rack or facility because improperly parked bicycles can be removed. OV-fiets is designed around a personal OV-chipkaart and subscription, not a contactless tourist tap or the NS app alone. Use a visitor rental shop, confirm locks and return rules, and take a guided ride if busy urban cycling is outside your experience.

For a scenic cycle rather than the fastest commute, a dedicated route from the local tourism authority may be better than automatic navigation.
