Payments Apps in Poland

There is no Polish payment app a normal short-term visitor needs.

BLIK is highly visible, but it is not a standalone wallet. A user generates and confirms a BLIK code inside a participating bank's mobile app, which means eligibility depends on having a supported account and service. A foreign visitor should not plan to open a Polish financial account merely to pay for a holiday. International contactless cards are accepted very widely in hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, museums, ticket machines, and established shops, but carry the physical card because a phone wallet, offline terminal, or issuer check can fail.

Bring a second card on a separate account and a modest amount of Polish zloty for small stalls, rural businesses, public toilets, outages, deposits, and any place that is temporarily cash-only. Poland uses PLN, not the euro. At a terminal or ATM, choose PLN and decline dynamic currency conversion into the home currency. Review any operator fee before confirming a withdrawal.

Prefer a bank ATM at an open branch, shield the PIN, and avoid assistance from strangers. Recent travelers consistently report near-universal card acceptance in Warsaw and Krakow, but also recommend small cash as a backup. Revolut can be useful to an eligible existing customer, but it is a home-country financial product, not a Polish arrival requirement, and it does not guarantee BLIK access or eliminate ATM fees.
