They provide an upfront app record, driver and vehicle details, route tracking, and cashless payment, which is safer and easier to dispute than accepting an unsolicited car. Bolt is the first recommendation because it has broad Polish coverage and is commonly used for city and airport trips. Uber is a useful backup when prices, wait times, or pickup zones differ. Both operate through licensed drivers and vehicles, but app branding does not eliminate ordinary taxi risks. Match the plate, driver, and vehicle before entering, use the in-app pickup pin, wear a seat belt, and do not continue a trip privately after a driver asks you to cancel. Airports and stations may require a designated app pickup point, so follow the app and terminal signs instead of a stranger offering a ride inside arrivals. Official travel advice warns that unofficial taxis can overcharge and have been connected with assaults. Recent Warsaw and Krakow reports also describe excessive airport and street-taxi bills. FREENOW and iTaxi are legitimate alternatives, but asking a short-term visitor to install four overlapping taxi apps adds little value. Use an official marked rank if app supply fails, confirm the price basis before moving, and keep the receipt.
