It is not required for entry, public transport or every booking, and claims that all Slovenian travel businesses prefer it are too broad. Save the original reservation and the provider's separately published phone number outside the chat. Add a business from its official website, verified listing or existing booking rather than an unsolicited message. A change of bank account, payment link, refund process or pickup point is not trustworthy merely because it arrives in the same conversation and contains real booking details.
Verify consequential changes through the original platform or a number you located independently. Never share a WhatsApp registration code, banking approval, card PIN or passport scan in response to a chat request. For a taxi or transfer, send the exact pickup pin and written destination, ask for the vehicle details and wait for an explicit booking confirmation. A delivered message does not mean a car has been assigned.
Use ordinary phone calls when the business lists no messaging channel, and call emergency services rather than messaging a commercial provider in an urgent situation. WhatsApp's own security guidance recommends two-step verification and warns users never to share the six-digit registration code. Limiting automatic media downloads is sensible while roaming. The app remains optional because Slovenia's core taxi, delivery and transport services use their own apps or websites.
