Register it before departure while the usual number can receive the verification code, enable two-step verification, add a recovery email, and keep the existing WhatsApp account if changing SIMs. Save provider numbers from official sites or an existing confirmed reservation, not from an unsolicited message or search advertisement. Ask a driver or tour company to confirm the date, pickup pin, vehicle, total price in Turkish lira, inclusions, cancellation terms, and payment method in writing. If a provider changes the number, bank details, or meeting point, verify the change through another published channel.

A business name, logo, or profile image is not proof of identity. Never disclose a one-time code or allow remote access to the phone. Share a live location with a trusted contact when useful, but save essential addresses and confirmations offline because tracking stops with poor coverage or a dead battery. WhatsApp is not an emergency-service channel.

Call 112 for police, fire, or ambulance and follow local instructions. Keep the accommodation address, insurer, airline, embassy or consulate, and provider contacts available outside the app. Avoid sending full passport, card, medical, or insurance documents to an unverified chat. One securely configured messaging app and a verified offline contact list are more useful than several overlapping services.
